Associate Director and Director of Development

Lisa Hetfield, Associate Director and Director of Development for the Institute for Women’s Leadership consortium at Rutgers University.  In that role she raises funds to support leadership programs, research initiatives, and public service activities of the consortium as well as oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization.  Formerly the school development officer for Douglass College, she was involved in the 75th Anniversary Campaign for Douglass that raised over 10 million for college priorities including the construction of the Ruth Dill Johnson Crockett Building which is now the headquarters for the Institute for Women’s Leadership, the women’s studies program, and the Center for Women and Work.  She is a co-founder of several leadership programs at Rutgers, including the IWL High School Leadership Certificate Program and the Senior Leadership Program for Professional Women.  Hetfield holds an MA in women’s and gender studies from Rutgers University and a BA in English from Carnegie-Mellon University.  She is currently at work on a collaborative book project on women, feminism, work and family in the post-Friedan era.
